Today, the birds woke us up early, but we were ready to go! Our first "job" was to empty the contents of a safe. Small job, huh? It was stacked from the floor to the 11 ft ceiling with all kinds of books and ledgers, some three deep in the shelf. We carried the books down from the second floor, stack by stack and we filled the trailer (and emptied it) three times. The kids came home from school so we somehow charmed them into helping us. Their energy was very appreciated! We formed an assembly line (or at least we tried to) to pass the books along the line -- as we restacked them in a shed. Not to rub it in, but Brian said the temperature was up over 100 today! It just doesn't feel like Iowa weather, that's for sure!
Before dinner, some of the kids sang some songs for us and danced. They all seem so happy and full of energy. We are looking forward to tomorrow -- after a good night of sleep! We have one more load to finish out the vault and then we will tackle the next project . . .
'Till then . . .

Glad you made it. We've been thinking about you and wondering how it was going. 30 hours??? WOW!! Tell little Drake hello from big Drake over here!! Sounds like they will have plenty to keep you busy. POG put your picture in the bulletin yesterday and up on the big screen. Jeff commented you were probably still in the air at 9:00 service yesterday. Take care and write more soon!!

Thanks a lot, Sara, for posting a blog so quickly. I could not wait to hear what you were doing. I remember seeing inside that safe you are emptying – tons of stuff. I can’t imagine how hot you were while you were doing that work!!!!!!!!! I was so glad to hear that your flight was good and that there weren’t any problems. Jeff prayed for your team yesterday at second service also and showed your picture. We talked about you tonight at bible study and prayed for you there too. I have been so hyped up since we saw you off at the airport. I have been thinking about you all a lot. Just know that God is with you and that He will bless you a bunch while you are there doing His work and being His hands and feet. Please make sure you go in the van when Brian or Louie take the children to school in the morning. Don’t be afraid to ask if you can go. It is fun and the kids love it! You can go in the afternoon also when they pick them up. Also, go and visit each of the flats and the mamas when you can. They love to get to know you and they will make you feel very welcome. Please tell and the kids and mamas that I am thinking of them and love them very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, pass along my hellos to the Neihoffs and O’Tools. Tell everyone that I miss them very much and wish I was there. Enjoy the pool if you can on those very hot days of summer and think of all of us when you do because our weather here is COLD!!!!!!!!! ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you and will be praying for all of you while you are there.
